This is something that I came across and I thought I would participate in this week!

Monday Minute

1 - Have you or a family member joined the military?
My husband is in the military right now, he joined when he was 17. We had been dating for about 5 months at the time he joined. Other than him I have never had any family in the military.

2 - Have you or a family member served his/her country in times of war?
My husband is serving now, but he has never been deployed.

3 - What's your favorite BBQ food?
Brats, or cheeseburgers (hard decision!!)

4 - Do you fart in public?
Icky no! I don't do that :)

5 - What's the one question that if it shows up on a Monday Minute, you refuse to take part?
hmm I don't know. Something really personal I guess that no one needs to know!


I hope everyone had a wonderful memorial day weekend :) we got a lot done and relaxed a little too. It was great having Ryan home for a 4 day weekend. I hope you all have a great week! ♥

Saturday=Success!

We have had a busy Saturday so far! It is only 3:00 and we are going over to friends tonight so it should be a good night too :)

We have this room in our house, it's an extra room. We usually just close the door and pretend it isn't there. It has been our "Storage" room for the last 6 months we have lived here. Today that all changed! As you all know my family is coming down to visit us in a couple weeks and some of the kids are going to be staying with us while they are here so we need somewhere for them to sleep. We totally cleaned that room out and all that we have in it so far is a bookshelf but we are going to get a futon soon and will have an official guest room. This makes me so happy :D I have been wanting to get this done for SO long and today it happened!

We also washed the truck this morning and cleaned the rest of the house (Somewhat) so we have had a very productive Saturday *thanks to Joshua waking up at 6:30* but in the long run I will thank him, he pulled me out of bed and got me going! But now he has been sleeping all day so I HOPE he sleeps tonight (Fingers crossed!!) We will be out past his bed time tonight so hopefully that will help him sleep later.

I need to go finish cleaning our bedroom then get dressed and ready to go, BBQ tonight and then watching a UFC fight with some friends :) Hope you are all having a very happy Saturday!! ♥

I can't wait

I have been realizing the last couple days, just how excited I am for my family to come down and visit us!! I have been so homesick lately and seeing them will be amazing :) plus this will be the first time since my husband and I got married that either of our families will see our home together. Japan was way to far!

I have been getting the house ready, and I know I will have to do it all again because they won't be here for 3 more weeks or so. But still! I have been dusting like crazy, my little brother Robbie has been having asthma attacks and bad allergies the last couple weeks so we want the house to be as clean as possible for him. Its hard with all this sand and dust but I'm gonna do my best!!

Well my crabby boy is calling, just wanted to share my excitement with you all :) Have a great Wednesday!! ♥

I am a better mommy than that, just because I got a new camera doesn't mean I can let him cry!

especially when I knew he was tired and just needed to go to sleep. Not me! I would never do that. (even though he is cute when he's crying)

Have you ever been so in love?

Have you ever been so in love with something you didn't want to leave its side? You never wanted to put it down, and never wanted to stop looking at it? I have! and I am right now :) I am so in LOVE with my new camera (and of course my husband and son, but they aren't NEW)I have already taken so many pictures it's so hard for me to choose which to put on. But here are a few of my favorite from the last couple days.

All around newness (and my 100th post!!)

Wow! I can't believe this is already my 100th post! I am so glad that I have actually been able to stick with it this long and I hope you are all enjoying reading my blog :)

I have totally redone my blog (Which I'm sure you've noticed by now:) I am still doing touch ups here and there but for the most part it is done! I love how it turned out. oh and on a sidenote... I am trying to make a button for my page, to share and I can't figure it out! I used to be able to do this stuff, but I have lost my ability and just get confused. So if anyone wants to help out an incompetent blogger that would be grand.

So I have been wanting to get this new camera for a while, we have been looking and comparing prices making sure we made an educated purpose. Yesterday we recieved our money for moving down here to El Paso (yes 5 months after we got here)and we got more than we were thinking we would so Ryan got me my new baby! Here she is



I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I am so excited to learn all the extras it has and start taking some awesome pictures. I hope you are all having a great Friday. I am so ready for the weekend :) ♥

Blogover

I have decided I need to give my blog a "Blogover" :) I am almost to my 100th post (this is my 99th!!!) so it's about time for a new look. Plus it is summer so time for something a little more summery! I am not real savvy with this stuff, but I am going to try to do something cool. I am hoping to get some time to do it tonight.

Today is Thursday! What is my favorite thing about Thursdays you ask? My dear hubby gets off at 3:00 on Thursdays. So we usually get to go out and do something. Tonight is no different, we are heading to target to get my baby boy a dresser. Yes, my almost 6 month old son does not have a dresser. He has a variety of plastic drawers and containers, which are doing the job, I am just so excited to finally get him a dresser!!

I hope you are all having a great Thursday, I have been very productive. And only 3 hours til Daddy get home :) Happy Thursday blogger friends ♥

Wow... What a week!

So if you haven't noticed lately I have been MIA for a while, Joshua has been a bear and our internet has been horrible so I haven't had much of a chance to get on. I hope you are all still doing wonderful :) I am doing the same as always, getting by and keeping a smile on my face!

I went out this morning with a couple ladies from church to the thrift store, I found a TON of childrens books and they were only 10 cents each! Yes, you read that right, 10 CENTS. I was so lucky to go on the day they decided to put them on sale today because we have been needing to plump up our collection of books for my little guy. We got a few board books and plenty of books that will last him many, many years. Needless to say I was ECSTATIC. I love books and I love a great deal, so I was in heaven!

My family is planning to come to El Paso the 2nd week in June, I can't wait :) It has only been 2 months since I have been there (Not even really) but I miss them so much and have been so homesick ever since we left to come down here in December. I am so ready to move back to Minnesota. There's no place like home! But anyways... back to my original subject, My family is coming down here in a few weeks! So that has been the center of my focus for a week or so, trying to get the house ready and clean (at least as clean as it can be with all this dust). We are looking into getting a futon and setting up a guest room in our extra room upstairs. It is a diaster right now though... that's our job this weekend!

Ryan has CQ tonight, he got to come home for a couple hours though so it's not to bad! I get the bed to myself though, so that will be weird :)I think I might enjoy it. We will see how I feel about that in the morning... haha.

Well my little man is ready for bed, he is bathed, Daddy is reading him a book then it's off to sleepy land. Ryan has to leave for work agai in abou 20 minutes so maybe we will get a few minutes alone.. Depends on what Joshua's plan is tonight! I will be back tomorrow with a much needed picture update. He hasn't let me get much done, I have been reading a few of my followers but haven't had to much time to post! I love you all my bloggy friends ♥

It's NOT all about me after all...

Mothers day Sunday, our Pastor at church spoke about Exodus 20:12. The fifth commandment; "Honour thy Father and Mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee."

This really opened my eyes to a lot of things. The main thing I realized is, no matter how old I am, no matter how far away from home I am, I am still to honor my Father and Mother. They raised me to be a Godly woman, and it is my responsibility as their daughter to live my life in a way that will honor them and our Heavenly Father. What I do, doesn't only reflect who I am. It reflects my family, my parents.

I also realized that it is my responsibility as a Mother now to make sure that my children realize this. That their actions, and their words reflect back on me and Ryan as parents. I pray daily that God would give us the wisdom to raise our children for him, that He would give us the words we need to help them understand how important God is.

I hope this is something you are thinking about today as you live your life. Every thing you do or say is a reflection on your parents, but most of all a reflection of Jesus Christ.

Once again..

Once again I was up at 7:00 when I had my alarm set for 9:15. Thanks again Joshua :) He has not been sleeping well at all lately. But I think we figured out the problem and are hopefully on our way to fixing it and having a happy baby again! I started a new Birth Control 3 months ago and it has not agreed with my breastfeeding body. I stopped yesterday so hopefully in the next couple weeks things will get back to normal.

Today is mothers day, Happy Mother's day to everyone!! Old Mom's, New Mom's, Someday Mom's and Grandma's! I hope everyone has a wonderful day and gets pampered, because we all know Mom's have the hardest job around (no matter what anyone says!) and deserve at least one day a year where everything revolves around us. Ryan woke up at 7:30 to tell me happy mothers day, and now he is asleep again! haha goofy man.

I am off to get ready for church... the baby boy is sleeping and the big boy is sleeping. So I can take as long as I want in the Shower!! :D I hope everyone has a fabulous day, don't forget to tell your Mom's how special they are to you today. ♥

Friday Finally!

wow... I just had a whole long post written up and the internet decided it would be a good time to stop working. I don't feel like writing it all up again. Grr.

Is it just me or has this week seemes like it would never end?! It has been the longest week ever. And to top it all off Ryan has to teach a CPR class at the red cross tomorrow from 8-4. So that's another day of being stuck at home without him. It's basically a one day weekend. I strongly dislike one day weekends!

But on the brightside Joshua is taking a nap finally! And I have gotten a lot accomplished today. Laundry, vaccuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning Joshua's room and our room. All that's left to do is the dishes and I am going to wait until the baby wakes up. I don't want to wake him up any earlier than I have too :)

Well I am going to go play my daily family feud games. I hope you are all having a great friday. The work day is almost over and then it's time to relax with my guys and enjoy our short little weekend ♥

It's really only 3:30?

The last week or so seems to be dragging by. Joshua has been a bear, I have been sick and Ryan has been sick. I woke up thinking today was Thursday and it's only Tuesday! I can't stand how the weekends fly by and the weeks drag on... but on the bright side, my little man is finally taking a nap! Yes his first one since waking up at 7:30 this morning! I don't know how he does it. I just uploaded my pictures off my phone so here are a few :)

We decided to try a little rice cereal this week. He was 5 months old yesterday so we gave it a whirl. He was too crabby for it apparently!

Not me! Monday

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend, and got to relax a little bit :) Not me! Monday is hosted by MckMama, visit her page by clicking the Not Me! Monday icon on the side of my page.

I did not start my week last week so motivated to accomplish something and then think of every excuse possible to not complete the things I started. Not me! I always start everything I finish and make sure I am being productive.

I have not told myself every night for the last 2 weeks that Joshua needs to start going to bed on his own, only to sit and rock him until he is asleep everynight. I did not do this because I can't stand to hear him cry. I know babies cry from time to time and life goes on.

I definitely do not make it a point every day to make sure I get my family feud games on facebook done. Even if I don't have time to do laundry. I know there are so many more important things than silly games :)

I hope everyone is having a good monday so far. I have an incredibly fussy, sick, teething, but mostly spoiled little boy who is calling for me. Hopefully he will let me start dinner before Daddy gets home, otherwise it will be 7:00 before we eat tonight! Manicotti Monday!! ♥ have a great evening.
