Weekend Recap + a few days

Wow! Is tomorrow really Friday already? Ryan worked until 10 on Saturday, then had Sunday-Tuesday off, so we had a nice looong weekend. What did we do with our long weekend you ask? Well, let me show you!

Saturday

Saturday Ryan worked from 6-10, then we went to my parents house to help them paint! I lived in my parents house my entire life, literally I didn't move once until I moved to Japan with Ryan, and as long as I lived there I don't remember ever having it painted. So this was a big deal :)

We had a McDonalds picnic

we were there until about 8:30. A nice long day of painting!

Sunday

We woke up too late for church Sunday morning (Yay! for the boys letting me get some sleep, but boo for missing church) but we had a fun day going to Miss Adelle Julia's first birthday party!

Monday

We have been wanting to go pick strawberries ever since they were ready to be picked. So Monday was the day! Joshua absolutely loved it!

Tuesday
Ryan and I had a date night on Tuesday, we went to Texas roadhouse for dinner (YUMMY) then went to lowes and walked around, and then went and did some dream appliance shopping at the sears outlet and again at the mall. My favorite part of the whole night was this awesome diaper bag I found at Burlington.


I have been hunting for a perfect one and FINALLY found it!

Wednesday
Wednesday was just a stay at home day for me and the boys while Ryan went back to work. Joshua had fun playing in his pool


We went on a relaxing walk

And the perfect end to the perfect day was that Samuel decided to sleep finally!! He slept from 10:00-6:30!! It was amazing :)

Thursday
Today was a very warm humid day here in Minnesota, so me and the boys went to my parents and cooled off in the pool! Okay, only Joshua went in the pool. Samuel slept inside most of the time and I got my tan on. But it was definitely a relaxing day.

So as you can see we have been busy as usual. I hope all these beautiful pictures make up for my absence this week. Hope you all had a great week and have a wonderful weekend!

Friday at the beach

I left you with a little sneak peek of our day at the lake on Friday evening here

We spent the day at coon lake with Kellie (who has a cute blog as well) and her family and we had a great time! Her little girl Adelle is going to be one on the 30th. Happy birthday Adelle! Joshua got to go on a boat for the first time and he had so much fun (poor thing had to wear a pink life jacket)

Weekend Recap

The last couple days in a nutshell

I have definitely been slacking since Samuel has been born. Do you know how much work it is to take care of a one year old and a newborn? Really, do you?! By the time they are both asleep, I am ready to pass out right along with them, and usually (after an episode of lost, or armywives) that is exactly what I do. So what have we been up to the last couple days?

Being cute, of course

Mr. Sam had his very first bottle yesterday, and if I do say so myself, he did very well!

We have been spending time with family :)

Daddy and Joshua braved this cold summer weather we have been having and went swimming at Grandma and Grandpa Anderson's yesterday. Even though he was shivering the whole time, Joshua had a ton of fun.

Auntie Amber and Uncle Tyler stopped by to play with Joshua and hold Sammy this morning. I actually got to do my hair :0 thanks guys for taking care of my kiddos while I got to feel decent again!

Well that is our last couple days in an extremely small nutshell, but hey, you get this jist of it. I am off to bed, hoping and praying Samuel will sleep good. The last couple nights have not been so great, so hopefully he will sleep 8 1/2 hours like he did a few day ago. I could get used to that :)

A little alone time...

Joshua is at grandma and grandpa Stricklands for a few hours tonight, hopefully getting super tired so he is ready for bed when he gets home. When Ryan works 2nd shift, and I don't have a vehicle the days seem like they are never-ending. And poor Joshua gets so bored here with just me and Samuel to keep him company. It's always nice to have family to play with and it always helps him sleep better if he's been busy all day.

So this evening its just me, Sam and deuce laying around being lazy! Thankfully this is Ryans last 2-10 for a while and we will have our family evenings back :-)

So here I am.

Here I am. At 9:45 on a Friday night. Really wishing I could be in bed like my two young sons are, but instead I am sitting on the computer waiting for my chicken to cook. You see, I took chicken out the other day for dinner but it never got used. We are to that "now or never" point, and I just can't bring myself to throw away a whole bag of chicken. Not exactly how I pictured my Friday nights when I was younger, but hey, life's good PERFECT.

But, on a more exciting note, we are supposed to hit 70 degrees tomorrow! How pathetic is it that we are excited for 70 degrees in the middle of June? Ridiculous! How do you explain to your 1 1/2 year old that it is too cold to go outside and play? When just 2 days ago, it was 102 degrees and he was having the time of his life swimming and running through the sprinklers. Ridiculous! But hopefully that weather will be back soon and we will have more times like this:

We are ready for the warm to stay!! No more pants and sweatshirts would be wonderful :) Hopefully the weather warms up and stays that way. And hopefully my chicken finishes SOOOOON so I can go to sleep ♥

Life.

Life is exhausting me lately! I go to bed way to late, wake up way to early and change WAY to many diapers in between. Remember back in this post when I mentioned Joshua was having a hard time adjusting to Samuel, and was being very whiny? Well that hasn't changed yet. It has been 3 weeks since Sam was born, and Joshua is just as whiny and cranky today as he was the day we brought the baby home. I am gonna blame this on the terrible two's now. I know he is only 18 months, but seriously, what else could be going on? He is EXHAUSTING me lately.

So what's new around here? I have about a billion mosquito bites on my FEET, that's whats new. Probably the most annoying place to have a single mosquito bite, let alone 23. Yes I counted. Don't judge me.



Tell me you wouldn't count those bad boys.

I just realized it is almost 5:00 and Joshua is still sleeping... oh goodness it could be a long night! Mr. Samuel is sitting next to me in his rocker being a fuss-butt wanting to eat AGAIN, I am trying to spread his feedings out a little, he is wanting to eat every hour! And for a little boy who has gained a pound a week almost since he was born (yes my little chunk is 11 lbs 10 oz), hourly feedings are NOT necessary. But goodness he is cute isn't he? and it is hard to listen to this little cutie patootie be unhappy.



Last night was my brother in laws 18th birthday (well technically all day was I guess, but we celebrated last night). We went to my in-laws and had ice cream cake! (DELICIOUS)


Joshua has pretty much perfected using a spoon, and loved showing off his amazing eating-with-silverware ability.
