Ever since we moved into our cute little 2 bedroom, 2 bath town home in the middle if January our downstairs bathroom has had the faint smell of cat. Nasty, nasty cat.
A few weeks ago we had our air ducts cleaned, hoping that would totally get rid of the smell and we could live happily ever after. No such luck. If anything, the smell has gotten worse since we had the ducts cleaned. Not exactly how we planned for that to work out, but the house sat empty for a while before we moved in and we wanted to get them cleaned anyways so it wasn't a complete waste of money.
Ryan decided on Friday afternoon to take the trim off to see if that would get rid of the smell. Instead, he removed the trim and just about threw up when he discovered the yellow, urine covered wall, trim and floor that had been lurking just beneath the surface. Wonderful.
So after thinking about it, crunching some numbers and just about dying from the smell we decided it was happening this weekend. This bathroom just had to get done. So Thursday night on our date my hubby and I went to home depot and spent 477$ on bathroom stuff. Tile, grout, a vanity, all that fun (expensive) stuff.
Friday morning Ryan tore the floor out, cut half the drywall out and pretty much gutted our cute little half bathroom. All day yesterday and today were spent slowly putting it back together.
Since these pictures were taken the drywall has been put up. So it clearly isn't useable yet, but its being put back together slowly. Hopefully tomorrow mudding and taping can get done, we can tile and possibly even paint. Ryan is working overnight tonight so he will only have half the day tomorrow to work on it, but I still have high hopes!
I'm hoping all the time and effort put into this tiny little bathroom will be worth it. I hope you are all having a great weekend!
Love love ♥
