Where has this week gone?!

Is it for real Thursday already? I feel like our busy weekend just ended. I am definitely not complaining, just wondering where the time has gone! We have done nothing this week. But I am gonna do a little weekend recap, yes I know its WAY late. But we had a busy weekend :)

Saturday-
So Ryan and I both graduated from a little school called PACT charter school. Teeny tiny compared to public schools. On Saturday they had an alumni/homecoming day thing so we decided to stop by for a bit. There was no one there (as expected) and we ended up just letting Joshua play on the park for a little bit and then we came home for naps! Oh and Joshua got to touch a BUS! He loves buses and trucks lately. I didn't realize how many there were on the roads until he started pointing them out to me. Every. Single. One.




Saturday evening Ryan's cousin Travis got married! So we got all fancied up and went to a wedding. Unfortunately I forgot my camera, so here are a couple cell phone pictures and a picture of the bride and groom stolen from facebook :)

Sunday-
A few weeks ago my in-laws invited us to go to a vikings game with them. So we ended up going to the Vikings/Lions game on Sunday. What a game! I've never been to a football game before. To be honest, I'm not even sure I've watched a whole football game before. But it was a lot of fun :)

The Vikings ended up losing 26-23. Even though we went into the second half ahead 20-0. Apparently we aren't a 2nd half team. We would be 3 and 0 this year if we only had to play the first half! Instead, we are 0 and 3. Ridiculous.







We had a fun busy weekend! Now the boys and I are all sick and can't seem to get rid of these coughs and sore throats and icky noses. I feel like we just got over this... I am not a fan of this time of year! Hopefully it won't last long. Tomorrow the boys and I are going to check out lifetime fitness and hopefully get a membership! It will be nice to have somewhere to go on those cold snowy winter days to have some fun :)

Quick update

I feel like its been forever since I've posted. I don't have much time and I'm holding a cranky baby but here's a quick update on my kiddos and our life!

Joshua-




My big boy loves pushing his own cart at coborns

 

He has his own sense of style and INSISTS on wearing what he wants



He actually watches TV now. I enjoy the quiet once in a while :)



He LOVE LOVE LOVES books and will sit still forever as long as I am reading to him

Samuel-


Mr. Sam is 4 months old now! He is getting way to big, way to fast.



Sammy is definitely a mamas boy and a cuddler! I LOVE it ♥



He loves sitting in his highchair and watching outside.


He has an ADORABLE smile and is looking more like Joshua every day!



He isn't as good of a sleeper as he used to be... but I'm hoping it will pass soon.

Ryan-
Ryan started his new job yesterday! He worked security at general mills for almost a year after he got out of the army, but his last day was Friday. He started at Airgas yesterday, a job he applied for the same time he applied to guardsmark. This is definitely more of a career and has potential for promotion. YAY!

Me-
K there is never anything new with me :) I'm taking care of two sick kids again and exhausted. I am hoping this won't last as long as the last bug. I went shopping last night by myself! And got some clothes FOR MYSELF! That doesn't happen to often.

An Old Friend

I'm not sure how to write this, I don't really know how to start it.

Yesterday morning a friend I have known since I was 4 years old passed away in his sleep due to a seizure. He was only 22 years old. I just can't even comprehend how unexpected and unreal this is.

I haven't talked to Josiah in years, even though his family lives about a mile from my family. Our families have been friends as long as I can remember. We went to 5L club together when we were 4. We got in trouble together at school in 7th grade. And now he is gone.

 I think what is hitting me the hardest is the fact that life is so short. We never know when God is going to call us back to him. I will be the first to admit, I don't think about death and dying every day. I go about my life as though nothing tragic will ever happen to me and my family. We will all live to be old, live happy and fulfilling lives and die of old age in our sleep peacefully. It takes a life taken unexpected to make me realize how lucky, no, how BLESSED I am to be here. To wake up every morning to my two cranky children, to my husband who loves me more than I deserve.

So remember today how blessed you are. Please keep this wonderful family in your prayers. Jim, Barb, Jamie, Jesse, Jordy, Jude & Judson I am thinking of you guys constantly. Josiah will be missed by so many, and his memory will live on forever.

A trip to the Zoo!

We have been trying to get to the zoo for weeks it seems like! Ryan doesn't have a set schedule at work so its hard to plan to far in advance. We had a day set for (2?) weeks ago and then the whole bathroom fiasco happened. So I decided we would wait until that was done to go spend the day at the zoo, and that day FINALLY came this last Saturday. Joshua has never been to the zoo before, and he LOVES animals so he had a lot of fun. 

Joshua is not the kind of kid that gets hyper and energetic when he loves something. He's more of the "I'll just stand over here and watch with a very intrigued look on my face and be totally silent" type. So he enjoyed it in his own way, quiet and observant. 

We got to the zoo at about 10:15, 15 minutes after it opened. A lot of the animals were still sleeping so we didn't see a ton. But the ones we did see were worth the drive :) Here's a little recap of our trip in pictures:

Hello Beautiful!

Why hello there beautiful weather! I am LOVING this gorgeous fall/summer weather we have been having the last week or so. I love love LOVE fall, except for the fact that it reminds me winter is coming. We had beautiful 60 degree weather for a few days, and now we are back in the 80's. I am definitely not complaining :) It is because of this Oh so gorgeous weather we have been able to get our garage (partially) cleaned out, spend a lot of time at the park, and become even better friends with our neighbors. All things I am very very grateful for ♥

Today we started our day off with a little cat in the hat while I got a few things done around the house. Then Sammy took his tiny little cat nap that is totally necessarily 45 minutes after waking up (seriously, he's a bear if he doesn't get this tiny little nap). After he woke up me and the boys ventured to the park, one of Joshua's favorite places these days. I 'm pretty sure he thinks we can't be at the park without taking pictures, because first thing after we get there he turns to me and says "cheese". I love this boy




me and Sammy enjoyed the sun a little too. Well for a couple minutes until Sam was getting annoyed that he couldn't open his eyes.



We came home and had some delicious left over KFC from yesterday and then Joshua told me (yes you read that right, HE told ME) it was nap time. So I laid him down and he was asleep in 2 minutes!

Both the boys are still sleeping and I just finished my AMAZING book I have been reading the last few weeks Handle With Care. I love when I get a random book at a garage sale and it turns out to be awesome. That's what happened with this one. Best quarter I have ever spent.

Now I need to be a little productive before they wake up! Have a great weekend friends.

Am I a loser?

Am I a loser for getting into bed at 9:36 on a Saturday night? Sometimes I think I am. I mean, how many 22 year olds do you know who are in bed that early? Especially on a weekend? But whenever I let that thought cross my mind, I remember I have an EXTREMELY cranky 3 month old who thinks its cool to wake up (at least) 3 times every  night and just scream, and refuse to go back to sleep. Going to bed at 9:30 doesn't seem like such a bad idea after all!

The last couple days, I have been wanting to get into bed by 5:00. Literally at 4:30 today, I think I could have gotten into bed and fallen asleep right away. These sick, cranky boys are starting to wear on me! They both have gotten rid of the fevers, Joshua doesn't have as icky of a nose and Sam's cough is starting to go away. But for some reason they are both being extremely clingy, whiny and NEEDY. I am EXHAUSTED.

So friends, when you wonder where I have been, and why you haven't been hearing (reading?) from me lately, its because of these two, adorable, cranky, sick little boys.






prayers for happier, healthier boys would be greatly appreciated. Also for a loooong nights sleep :)
