Picnic at the park

Yesterday the boys and I got to go play at the park with my friend Sarah and her cute, cute kiddos Peyton and Vandis. Peyton is about 2 months older than Joshua and Vandis is about 2 months older than Sammy. Perfect age for friends :) We went to the park and played a little and had some yummy BBQ chicken sandwiches and fruit. Well Joshua and Peyton had fruit at least, they ate it ALL!

Thanks for playing with us guys! I hope everyone had a wonderful week with this beautiful weather. We are going to the Anoka County Fair tomorrow with my family and hopefully Ryan's family too. There will definitely be pictures to come.

Summer Blogging. Impossible?

Sometimes I feel like it is impossible to do consistent blogging in the summer. The beautifully HOT weather is calling our names, why in the world would I want to sit inside on the computer? SO we don't stay inside much, and because of that my blogging suffers. Oh well, I think we will all live.












More fun than blogging? I think so!

I hope everyone is having a great week. I have been going to bed way to late, and Ryan has been working waaay to early. We sleep in bed together for a total of 2 hours tops. It's awesome. Tomorrow is his last day of 2-2 this week, and I am SO looking forward to going to bed together at a reasonable hour. Turns out when he goes to bed early, I have no one to make me go to bed and I stay up ridiculously late. Awesome.

We went to a new park



With all kinds of fun stuff



Okay so maybe we didn't spend the Whole day at the park



More like 30 minutes.

The Facts.

The facts of my life:

- I regularly use sentences like "get off your brother", "Stop eating dog food" and "Get out of the fridge" (literally)

- I have officially decided I have OCD. There are certain things I HAVE to do my way or I can't stop thinking about it. Like vacuuming for instance.

- My baby isn't a baby anymore. He is a toddler, and getting WAY to independent for me.



-I have been EXTREMELY blessed to have two boys who go to sleep so easily, lay them down and they are out in a few minutes with no fight.





- My baby-turned-toddler is ALMOST ready to get serious with potty training. More ready than I am I think.

- My husband is an amazing man.

- A day "out" now, is a trip to the park.



-My life is nothing like it thought it would be when I married my Army Man 4 years and 3 months ago. But it is SO much more than I could ever imagine and I am blessed to be here :)

What a day

We finally had a beautiful day! Warm enough to swim and enjoy time outside, but not so warm you feel like you just took a shower 5 minutes after you step outside. Perfect.

Joshie played outside while Sammy slept

and played some more

And stopped only to cheese it up for Mommy who just wouldn't stop taking pictures

Until this nasty thing ruined his fun in the pool

It landed on his leg and stung him

So, naturally, he tried to brush it away and the stinker stung him again!

needless to say it was a rough morning for my big boy. After we had a snack and made him forget about his massively swollen thumb and sore leg, we went on a walk! Then right after we got back, Joshua got a hold of my keys and tried to "unlock" the outlet. Epic failure. He got a little jolt, and a BIG startle. Hopefully he won't be doing that again (who am I kidding, he tried to do it again 10 minutes later).

But he was a trooper and still did his chore before he laid down for a nap.

Here's hoping tomorrow will be a little less painful for Josh.

I'll bet you've always wondered

I'll bet you've always wondered what we do when Samuel sleeps in. Well today is your lucky day, you get a little glimpse in the morning of Joshua when Sammy decides to sleep late

He likes to start his day off with a yummy breakfast of Life cereal and grapes


Then he likes to pretend he is the baby again


He loves the attention Mommy gives him while he plays with [in?] his toys


Joshua actually sits still once in a while to watch some fun shows [Like expedition impossible] with Mommy when Sammy sleeps in


He likes to take wonderful morning pictures with Mommy


He loves helping fold laundry while we watch TV


Joshua of course loves doing the computer


And he enjoys watching the rain and storms outside. Wishing he could be out there playing instead of stuck inside with boring old Mommy


This is what our mornings look like when Sammy sleeps in... aren't you glad you took a few minutes out of your day to look at my cute boy? Love love ♥

Busy Busy Busy!

Wow has it really been 5 days since I have been on here? Oops! We have been busy busy busy. Spending time with family, FINALLY buying a second car, and enjoying this baby who is finally starting to be happy. It's amazing how much less stressful my life is when Sam isn't screaming non-stop :) I can't tell you what changed, but for some reason he is much easier to calm down the last few days and we are enjoying it immensely!

I don't have my camera with me so you just get to enjoy some beautiful cell phone pictures for now.

Seven week old Sammy

I can't believe my little man is already 7 weeks old! Where has the last month and half gone? Usually when you think of a seven week old baby you think of a baby starting to be happier, sleeping more at night and less during the day, you know becoming more of a person right? WRONG! My little boy has been a MONSTER the last couple weeks.

I kind of feel bad because I don't have very many pictures of him from the last couple weeks but honestly, all he does is cry and sleep. IF I were to show you pictures of him, most of them would look like this:



Now I feel like a mean mom for posting that!

I guess we will stick with those from now on.

So Samuel James, here is a little bit about YOU at 7 weeks old.

You have really bad acid reflux and constantly look like you are chewing something
Your big brother LOVES helping you be happy
You cry on average, 10 hours a day.
You are in size 3-6 month clothes
You are almost too big for size one diapers.
You weighed 14 lbs 7 oz. a week ago, so I'm assuming you are close to 15 lbs now
You are happiest when you are swaddled and I am holding you
You are starting to smile, on the rare occasion you are awake and not screaming
You are getting to be a pretty cute little baby!
