Beautiful afternoon at the park!

My little brothers and sisters go to school about .65 miles from my house.
Just a rough estimate :)
They had conferences today and the younger girls came over to hang out with me and Josher this morning
After hanging out a little bit we went on a walk up to the school to play on the park!

It is a beautiful day to be outside!


Ms. Lily was ever so dramatic complaining of "tired feet" the whole way
But she stopped to smile for a picture. Of course :)


When we got there my parents and the other kids were waiting for the next conference
Joshua got to go down the slide with aunt Deja

We got home to burgers on the grill, dishwasher going & all the dishes washed by hand (thanks Ryan!!) All in all, I would say it was a pretty successful afternoon. Joshua is asleep in his crib now, Ryan is on his way to work and we are (possibly) gonna hit up a few garage sales later on. Happy Friday!!

Hair Cut Attempt #1

My little man has the FASTEST growing hair ever. He just had a hair cut about two weeks ago and it is so long already!

Seriously, check out that hair!

So I decided today, we are not gonna be paying $12 (YES, $12!!!) for a hair cut every month. Plus, if I am gonna keep having boys man that is really gonna add up! Ryan already shaves his own head, so we had the clippers I just needed the courage. After watching a couple videos online and reading a couple tutorials (nerd? Possibly.) I had a little bit of confidence and took on the task of cutting my boy-os hair. I started with the intentions of dong a fade, but after I started I decided I would just do it all the same length (hey its my first time!) This is how it turned out

Needless to say I'm not gonna become a professional any time soon. But with a little practice I think I will get better.

After:

My little man looks like a big boy! Hard to believe he is 17 months old already and going to be a big brother any day. Seems like just yesterday he was a bald little newborn.

Hayley Rose

May 2nd is always a day that makes me think about a very special little girl.

This is Ms. Hayley Rose

I knew Hayley for about 4 months when I was 10 years old. Seems like such a little window of time but this little girl made an impact on me. I was BEST FRIENDS with her big sister, Raina. We have the same birthday and have always called each other "twin". Raina and I are still friends, she even made the trip all the way from Missouri to be here in Minnesota for my wedding!

I love you Raina!!

On May 1st, 1998 when Hayley was only 4 years old she got sick one night. Her family just thought it was the flu and did their best to keep their sick 4 year old hydrated and comfortable. Hayley died the next morning, May 2, 1998. Everyone was in shock when we found out. It turned out she didn't have the flu, her intestines twisted and she died because of. It was so unexpected and traumatic for everyone, especially her family.

Keep this family in your prayers today, I say a special prayer for them on May 2nd every year. I will never forget Ms. Hayley Rose and her adorable little smile :)

Fun with my little man

Yesterday Joshua and I took a trip to petsmart to pick out his very first pet! Now if you know me, you know I love animals. I would have loved to get a new puppy, a fun little hamster or at least something he could actually hold. But with a new baby on the way, and Joshua being only 17 months we decided a goldfish is a nice easy first pet. I must say, Joshua loves this "dish".



He LOVED petsmart too :) He looked at all the different birds, kinda scared them a little by smacking the glass so we didn't look too long. But even more than he loved the birds, he LOVED all the dogs that were inside the store. I think this was a little weird for him!



We made our weekly
daily, trip to walmart and found a great desk for an even better price. We have been looking for something so we could finally set up the desktop computer but nothing has been quite right.

Joshua had fun helping Daddy put the desk together (ask Daddy and he might tell you Joshua didn't help at all, but its the effort that counts right?)



Then after it was all set up, we looked at some baby pictures of Joshua! He enjoyed all of them, he kept saying "Dady" (joshua talk for baby). He is gonna be such a good big brother!



This is the desk :) nice and simple for our not so huge living room. PERFECT!
