A (quick) trip to the pumpkin patch

We have been meaning to get to the pumpkin patch for a couple weeks now, and we finally got there on Sunday! We planned it for Sunday because that was supposed to be the warmest day of the weekend and we aren't fans of the cold. We got to the pumpkin patch around 11:45 and started off on the inside activities.

The big corn pit with a slide (seriously Joshua was in heaven)

And we stopped to look at some spooky Halloween decorations (by spooky I Mean, no one was scared of them and the babies LOVED them). My little sisters got their faces painted, and I failed at taking pictures. Oops.

Sammy stayed nice and warm snuggled up in his stroller (oh yeah, it wasn't warm, did I already mention that?)

Then we headed out to the chilly pumpkin patch, where it started raining approximately 2 minutes after we got outside. Awesome. Needless to say we didn't stay long, we got our pumpkins and got out of that chilly weather!

Ok, maybe we stopped to ride a tractor or two along the way

But mostly, we got our pumpkins and got out of there!

Joshua and Megan always have to get a picture together when we go somewhere, that's the fun part of having an aunt your age. (not really, the fun part is playing with each other ALL THE TIME). But I love pictures of the two of them together :)

I hope you are all having a wonderful fall season. We are still sick here... we just decided to brave the chilly weather to get pumpkins! Then afterwards brought Joshie to the doctor and it turns out he has croup. So we have him on meds, and he is taking nebs every 4 hours and tylenol for his fever. We  hope it leaves soon!

Sick Babies (again) and a haircut!

I feel like every other post I make is about the boys being sick. It is getting old. Real fast. Joshua had a cold for a while, then Sammy got it, then they both got better and I got it. Now it has started all over again. And to top it off Joshua has been wheezing and having a really hard time breathing today so it looks like we might be making a trip to urgent care today! He is taking a nap now, after a neb (it pays to have siblings with asthma :). So we will see how he feels when he wakes up and then decide if he needs to go in or not.

I hate sick babies. WAY more than I hate being sick. Seriously, If I could take this from them and have it myself I would do it in a heartbeat!

We haven't been taking many pictures lately. I guess its not my top priority when we are all nasty feeling.

So you get a few cell phone pictures :) One of Joshua clapping. Seriously, clapping is his new thing. He claps and says "YAY" constantly. It started with the potty training, I would say yay every time he went. This turned to him praising himself, and everything and everyone else we see haha. He cheers for Deuce when he eats, for me when I change Sams diaper, and even for Sam when he rolls over. He is our own little personal motivator.

And one of my big 5 month old Sammy! He is doing so good sitting up on his own. This outfit he is wearing in this picture, Joshua wore when he was about 14-15 months. Sam is a beast. 5 months old, weighing like 2 pounds less than his 18 month aunt, and wearing 12-18 month clothes. I guess I just grow em big :)

Yesterday I did something I have been wanting to do for way to long! I cut my hair. I cut 12 inches to be exact and donated it to locks of love. I didn't think I would miss it, but I do. It has been SO long since my hair has been this short. Seriously, I don't even remember when. But I think it is starting to grow on me. I took a shower, dried and straightened my hair all in about 25 minutes this morning. Before it would have taken me at least 25 minutes just to blow dry it. Major plus with two kiddos who don't like me doing anything for myself!

crazy right?

I hope you are all having a great day! We are getting ready to watch the vikings game, hoping its a good game and not a total disappointment like last week.

Thanks Daddy :)

My Dad is an awesome photographer. Seriously I love his pictures :) This last week we did 2 different photo shoots of the boys, one I thought would be fun to do at the park. Big mistake. Apparently when you go to a park with an almost 2 year old that loves slides, he doesn't wanna take pictures. He wants to actually PLAY. Crazy kid. But we got a few cute ones still.

 I love this one :)
 Smiley chunker!
 Too cute.

Then a few days later my parents wanted a picture of the boys to put on their wall. Since they did all the kids school pictures at a different spot they wanted a picture in the same spot of the boys. Makes sense! Try telling that to two little boys who don't like sitting still. Especially together. But once again, my awesome Daddy managed to get a few shots that I absolutely love!

 Handsome Joshie!

Nothing like brotherly love ♥

After much stress and some tears we have some pictures of my boys!

If you need a photographer for ANYTHING, you should try my Dad :) He is very reasonably priced and an awesome photographer and person. Seriously, check him out http://baphotopix.com/.

You never let go

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. I have been so ridiculously stressed out lately. I guess that happens when I don't sleep, have a very crabby 4 month old and an almost 2 year old who thinks he is 5 and should be able to do anything he wants. Seriously. How exhausting. I just need to constantly remind myself that these little monsters are my amazing gift from God and I need to keep praying for patience, because they will grow up way to fast. God is always there and won't give me more than I can handle.

Oh no you never let go, through the calm and through the storm, Oh no you never let go, in every high and every low, oh no, you never go, Lord you never let go of me.

This song was played at a funeral I went to a couple weeks ago. What an amazing family that can sing and honestly believe this while they are going through a horrible loss of their son and brother. Amazing.

I am NOT a morning person.

I knew, when I got pregnant with Joshua in 2009, that it would take some MAJOR adjusting. I am NOT a morning person. I love staying up late and sleeping in late. I always have. I figured, oh well, I'm gonna be a mommy so I will become a morning person. 2 years and 2 babies later, I am still not a morning person. I don't remember the last morning I woke up actually feeling rested. I also don't remember the last time I slept past 7:00 AM. (hmm..I wonder if those two things have anything to do with one another)

Samuel's schedule looks something like this right now:
Eat Constantly.
Sleep Never.

Not much of a schedule eh?

Joshua on the other hand will sleep until at least 8 every day, and when he wakes up he will just lay in his crib playing and waiting for me to come get him. Seriously Sam, take a lesson from your brother and let your Momma get some sleep!!

We are all sick. Boogers, coughs, fevers. The whole 9 yards. It's getting old real fast. It's been about 2 weeks since Joshua got it, a little more than a week since Sam got it and about 3 days since I got it. I hate being sick. So maybe if Sam would sleep once in a while, I could sleep once in a while and we would all start feeling better! I have tried discussing this with Sam, he doesn't seem to care.

I am off to rescue the baby who never sleeps, he just woke up from a 20 minute nap. During this nap I swept, did the dishes and cleaned up toys. Absolutely no resting. Awesome.

4 Month old Sammy

Sam was 4 months old on September 17th, so this post is late. Just a little late :)

My 4 month old Sammy is huge!
He weighs 21 lbs 12 oz
Measures 28 1/2 inches in length.
He is off of the charts for both (but what's new? He was off the charts at 2 months too!)
He is wearing mostly 12 month clothes but even some 18 months for the width (chunky boy!)

He LOVES his big brother. He laughs anytime he sees Joshua, especially if Joshua is crying. True sibling love!

IMAG1115

He is getting really good balance. Not really sitting up kind of balance, more like some core strength so he isn't a rag doll anymore kind of balance.

IMAG1158

Sammy is still a thumb sucker and it is cuter than ever! I love that he gets himself back to sleep a lot at night too :) no getting up just to give him his pacifier.

IMAG1141

He is finally starting to sleep better again. We are about where we were a month ago, 7 or 8 hours straight. I LOVE it. There were a couple weeks where he was up constantly and I was exhausted.

His eyes are big, beautiful and BLUE! He has the happiest eyes I have ever seen and looks like he just wants to start telling you a story.

Mr. Sam has an attitude like no other and he has a temper! He just can't seem to get over this acid reflux and we are going to be going in soon again for another suggestion. We are on our 3rd medicine now and it just won't help him. Poor guy screams every time he eats and I feel so helpless :( We might end up having to try formula for acid reflux. I really don't want to but if that's what will help my baby feel better that's what we will do.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We had a very relaxing weekend, Went out to a late night breakfast at Perkins with my parents Friday night for their 27th anniversary and I got a massage on Saturday :) Other than that pretty much just hanging out around the  house with my guys!
